Budgeting, anyone?

I hate budgeting! It's not because I do not know how to do it. But simply because I find it tiring and limiting. Though, I confess, that sometimes it is also fulfilling. Especially if you are able to work around in and is rewarded with an extra savings.

But you know what? Now I love budgeting! Ask me why. *grin* The FEAST and my great mentor Bro. Bo Sanchez. What? BO SANCHEZ, THE BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND PREACHER, IS YOUR MENTOR? Haha I can imagine the look of disbelief in your face. YES! That's indeed a big YES! How did you do it, you might ask? Well, I attend the Feast, the happiest place on earth! (this is another story but for more info try to google it *grin*)

As I have said, now I love budgeting. The reason for this is, the format, that my mentor suggests. It's simple(10, 20, 70). It covers all aspects of your life (GOD, SELF, OTHERS). How is it done? When you have an income the first thing you should do is to set 10% aside for God, it is called tithe. Then set 20% for yourself, it is called investment (retirement and emergencies). The remaining 70%,  the biggest bulk of this goes to others (spend it for your relationships, charity etc) and the rest for your other expenses and desires.

The simplicity of the formula hides the many benefits it creates. For one, it moves you to live simply and desire the things that matter, our real treasure, family and relationships. Another is, it solidifies your dependence on God, that all things comes from Him. And that He deserves the best because what you set aside for Him, from the abundance that He gave you, comes not from the remnants of your income. On the same breathe it allows you to think abundantly and love yourself.

Yes, indeed I love budgeting!
